Text Effects function provides lots of text effect, which can be applied to text object on the canvas directly. Just choose the text object on the canvas, and then pick up your favorite style from effect panel, the text object will become the expected one.

Besides the above pre-made text effect styles, you can customize your own logo text. Click "Custom..." button to open "Custom" dialog to set the desired text style.

Text Font tab enables you to choose a text font.
Font
Show system font: Check this option to show all the font that is installed on the computer.
Font Size: Input the number or drag slider to set the font size.
Kerning: Input the number or drag slider to set the distance between texts.
Font Style: Attach bold (B), italic (I) style to text.
